The Afghan National Futsal Team, which has secured its first-ever entry into the Asian Nation Cup 2024, will face Bahrain in its final group stage match today.

The game is set to take place at half-past six Kabul time.

Majid Mortezaei, the team’s head coach, has stated that his players are fully prepared and hopeful for a decisive victory in today’s match.

Mortezaei’s team is facing a crucial game, as they can only progress to the next stage if they defeat Bahrain and Iran defeats Kuwait.

A victory would see Afghanistan advance to the next stage of the Asian Nation Cup 2024 as the second-placed team in group D, where they would face the top team from Group C.

The Afghan Futsal Team, which is known as the Khorasan Lions, now sits in third place in Group D with one loss and one draw.

In recent years, sport have been one of the few things that has caused to unite all of Afghanistan’s ethnic groups, serving as a beacon of joy for citizens weary of war.
